This passive component mounts directly atop the matching 4739 low-frequency bass cabinet to form a complete two-way loudspeaker. Built by JBL Professional (Harman Cinema), it delivers cinema-grade performance without requiring external amplification for the HF section in a fully passive configuration.
Acoustic Design & Components
The horn section houses a 2384 ScreenArray horn paired with a 2432H compression driver featuring a 3-inch titanium-diaphragm for extended high-frequency response and controlled directivity. The passive crossover network and adjustable mounting bracket ship fully assembled, allowing straightforward integration with the bass cabinet and existing cinema or touring sound systems.
Recording & Mix Integration
High-frequency sensitivity measures 105 dB, ensuring efficient output and clean integration with the dual-15 woofer section. When paired with the 4739 bass cabinet, the complete 4722N system achieves 104 dB overall sensitivity, 130 dB rated maximum SPL (136 dB peak), and a frequency range of 30 Hz – 20 kHz with 630 Hz crossover frequency. This delivers the precision needed for monitoring critical vocal and dialogue work in mastering and reference environments.
