Boost Your High-Res Experiences with the Shanling SM90: Compact Network Streamer Features Dual AKM AK4493 DACs, OPA1612 Analog Output, DSD512 Playback, HDMI ARC Input, 4.96-Inch Touch Screen, and More

Looking at the compact Shanling SM90 doesn’t give you any idea of the power, performance, and punch that come so naturally to this high-resolution streamer/DAC. Hearing it conveys a completely different impression. One you won’t soon forget. Anchored by a Rockchip CPU, dual AKM AK4493 DACs, OPA1612-based analog output, dedicated 45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz clocks, and 35W toroidal transformer power supply, the 3.3 x 11 x 9.1-inch (HWD) unit plays with broad soundstaging, absorbing precision, smooth tonality, and a touch of welcome warmth. Its measured specs — 123dB signal-to-noise ratio; 0.00025% total harmonic distortion and noise; 123dB dynamic range — attest to its purity and fidelity. And its support of both wired and wireless internet connection via a Gigabit LAN port and Wi-Fi 6 module confirm its flexibility.

Able to support up to native DSD512 and 32-bit/768kHz PCM, SM90 accommodates everything from DXD and FLAC to WAV and AAC. Compatibility with Bluetooth LDAC, AAC, and SBC is also standard — while a Bluetooth receiver invites you to play music from your phone or tablet without lag. A 64GB internal memory, SSD M.2 slot, and up to 2TB of external drive capacity means you’ll have more than enough room for storage and expansion.

You’ll never hurt for connectivity with SM90. In addition to an HDMI ARC input, take advantage of one pair each of RCA and XLR outputs on the analog side to complement a digital array that includes a coaxial input and output; an optical input and output; and a USB input and output. Control is just as exhaustively covered, via an enhanced Eddict Controller app for remote operation and an UI that provides fast access to the entire system along with an optimized menu, settings, and functions. A 4.96-inch touch-screen display adds to the allure. As does built-in access to Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Presto Music, and KKBox. Fully supported NAS, DLNA, and AirPlay 2, you say? Yep. All here.

Constructed around a customized closed Android 12 system, SM90 continues its excellence on the exterior, aluminum alloy panels combine rounded edges and support feet. Really, SM90 is such an obvious choice, all you need to decide is black or silver. And feel free to give us a shout at 312-433-0200 if you have any other questions or needs.
