SABIAN Stratus Promotional Set
The Stratus Promotional Set delivers controlled, articulate response across its full range, making it a reliable foundation for tracking drums in the studio across multiple genres. This four-piece configuration pairs responsive hi-hats with versatile crashes and a ride that balances definition with wash, all constructed from B20 Bronze with extra-heavy hammering for durability and tonal complexity that records with presence and clarity.
Recording & Sonic Character
The 14″ hi-hats produce an articulate attack with a warm, semi-dark spread—cutting through dense mixes and capturing crisp transients in multitrack sessions. The thin-weight 16″ and 18″ crashes offer quick, controlled decay with a lower fundamental tone and explosive attack that sits well in compressed drum bus chains, while the 20″ ride combines articulate stick definition with a warm undertone that builds into a controlled wash and strong, clear bell for crash applications, giving engineers multiple sonic textures from a single ride cymbal.
Build & Construction
All cymbals are cast from B20 Bronze and shaped using an extra-heavy hammering protocol, which reinforces structural integrity and contributes to the series’ warm, focused tonality that remains consistent across multiple takes and overdubs. The medium-light top hat paired with a medium-heavy bottom hat on the hi-hat pair ensures responsive articulation and solid closure for tight, repeatable hi-hat performances in the studio.
