SABIAN 18″ XSR Suspended Cymbal
The SABIAN 18″ XSR Suspended captures bright, articulate transients with extended decay—essential for sessions requiring clarity on sustained passages and dynamic arrangements without washing out the mix. Crafted from pure B20 Bronze, this cymbal blends warm tonality with the responsiveness that sits cleanly in a recorded kit, delivering professional B20 character at a price point that makes sense for home and project studios.
Tonal Character & Studio Response
This suspended cymbal exhibits a higher pitch than other B20 series models and features a slightly slower response time, making it excellent for layering sustained melodic textures and ambient cymbal beds in your recordings. The reshaped bell provides focused articulation and definition across dynamic ranges, tracking cleanly on overhead and room microphones.
Construction & Recording Application
Built with 80% copper and 20% tin alloy composition, the 18″ XSR Suspended employs the same techniques refined through SABIAN’s Evolution and X-Plosion cymbal programs. The thin weight classification enables responsive playing dynamics while maintaining the longer sustain characteristic that gives this 18″ instrument genuine studio versatility for both crash and suspended cymbal roles in your mix.
