Hosa ODL-312 Digital Audio Interface

The Hosa ODL-312 is a professional digital audio interface designed to bridge the gap between S/PDIF optical and AES/EBU digital audio formats in studio and installation environments. This compact utility device enables simultaneous transfer of two channels of digital audio between equipment with TosLink optical S/PDIF connections and XLR AES/EBU connections, allowing seamless interconnection without ever leaving the digital domain. Supporting sample rates up to 24-bit/96 kHz, the ODL-312 ensures pristine audio quality remains intact when connecting digital audio workstations, DAT recorders, sound cards, and other professional audio gear with mismatched digital I/O formats.Designed for practical studio integration, the ODL-312 features independent input and output connectors for both formats, enabling simultaneous conversion in either or both directions as required by the application. The interface automatically disables the Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) when transferring from S/PDIF to AES/EBU, eliminating copy protection restrictions for professional use. Housed in a compact, portable enclosure, this interface includes an AC adapter for reliable mains power and provides an indispensable, cost-effective solution for digital audio recordists navigating mixed-format equipment inventories.
