Sound & Tone
With a mahogany body, three-piece maple neck-thru construction, and a 27″ baritone scale, the SC-608 produces a tight, sustaining low end that holds its definition on the low F string, suited to heavy, downtuned, and extended-range riffing. The Hipshot hardtail with string-thru-body stringing adds note stability, and the macassar ebony fingerboard with extra-jumbo frets supports aggressive fretting and fast passages. The Fishman Fluence SRC Signature 3-Voice pickups, selected through a 5-way switch and push-pull voice control, move from balanced to aggressive voicings while keeping chords and single notes clear across all eight strings.
ESP LTD SC-608 Baritone Stephen Carpenter Guitar Yellow
The SC-608 is a formidable 8-string baritone engineered for heavy, modern tones and extended-range recording applications. Its neck-thru construction delivers sustain and resonance across the full frequency spectrum, while the bright yellow finish provides unmistakable visual identification in the studio. Built to handle aggressive playing styles and downtuned tracking, this guitar rewards precision and power in equal measure for layered, dynamic guitar work.
Playability & Construction
The neck-thru-body design with mahogany body and three-piece maple neck creates a rigid, tonally cohesive platform that minimizes phase cancellation and delivers consistent sustain across multiple takes. The 27″ baritone scale and 24 extra-jumbo frets on a macassar ebony fingerboard accommodate aggressive fretting and precise intonation across all eight strings, with the extended scale providing excellent articulation when tracking at standard F-B-E-A-D-G-B-E tuning for lower-register productions.
Tone & Electronics
The Fishman Fluence SRC Signature 3-Voice pickups deliver three distinct voicings accessible via 5-way switch and push-pull control, enabling rapid tonal adjustment during mixing and overdub sessions without re-recording. The Hipshot hardtail bridge with string-thru-body design maximizes mass transfer and tuning stability through extended session work, while LTD locking tuners ensure the low extended strings hold frequency lock across demanding recording scenarios.
