Sound & Tone
With a mahogany body, 3-piece mahogany neck, and set-thru construction, the EC-01FT has a warm, thick foundation with strong sustain, while the macassar ebony fingerboard adds clarity and snap to the attack. The Seymour Duncan Custom 14 bridge pickup gives focused, articulate output with a pronounced midrange, so palm-muted riffs and driven leads cut through cleanly in rock and metal. The 24.75″ scale and .010–.046 strings give the guitar a slightly slinkier feel and a rounder, fuller response than longer-scale designs, and the passive electronics keep the signal direct.
ESP LTD EC-01FT Black Electric Guitar
The EC-01FT is engineered for controlled, articulate recording performance. Its thin U-contour neck and flat-top mahogany body support extended tracking sessions, while set-thru construction couples the neck directly to the body for enhanced sustain and resonance—critical for capturing definition and clarity in dense mixes. The brushed matte black pickguard and sleek black finish create a visually striking instrument that translates equally well to the control room or stage.
Recording-Ready Construction
Built with a 3-piece mahogany neck and macassar ebony fingerboard, the EC-01FT provides excellent stability and a smooth playing surface that stays in tune through long sessions. The 22 XJ stainless steel frets maintain their polish and intonation accuracy across years of studio use, while the thin U neck contour and 24.75″ scale reduce hand fatigue during tracking and overdubs. The set-thru construction anchors the neck deep into the body, maximizing tonal response, sustain, and the harmonic complexity that sits well in layered arrangements.
Tone & Electronics for the Mix
The Seymour Duncan Custom 14 bridge pickup (an ESP exclusive) delivers focused, articulate output with strong midrange presence—ideal for cutting through in rock and metal productions without adding unnecessary low-end mud. The master volume push/pull control enables quick gain adjustment between tracking takes, while the passive electronics keep the signal path simple and direct, capturing the raw character of the pickup without colored preamps or batteries. Stock D’Addario XL110 strings (.010–.046) provide balanced tension across the 24.75″ scale for consistent feel across the session.
