AudioQuest – DragonFly Copper USB DAC/Headphone Amplifier

Everything a Portable, Affordable USB DAC and Headphone Amplifier Should Be: AudioQuest DragonFly Copper Sounds Fantastic, Offers Powerful Output for ‘Phones and Powered Speakers

So much for having to speak softly and carry a big stick: The latest entry in AudioQuest’s see-and-hear-it-to-believe-it DragonFly family, the DragonFly Copper DAC/headphone amplifier takes the line’s award-winning performance to new heights. Measuring a minuscule 0.47 x 0.75 x 2.24 inches (HWD), DragonFly Copper achieves everything its predecessors did — drives any headphones via a 2.1-volt output, offers compatibility with Apple and Android devices, plays with a bit-perfect volume control, includes a DragonTail USB-A to USB-C adapter — and adds a standout 32-bit ESS SABRE DAC, microchip technology microprocessor to reduce current draw, and high-conductivity copper-plated case for RF-noise drainage.

The upshot: Smooth, natural sound along with excellent processing speed, minimal Wi-Fi and Bluetooth fuzz, a low noise floor, and stellar connectivity. Whether you listen at home or on the go, DragonFly Copper delivers price- and size-beguiling warmth, dynamics, body, tonality, and color from music. Songs you listen to on your computer, laptop, smartphone, tablet, powered speakers, or stereo will benefit from richer presence, authority, and realism with DragonFly Copper. Designed for stunning flexibility and portability, it handles up to high-res 24-bit/96kHz. Your phone, tablet, and computer control the output level; you decide whether it feeds your preamplifier, amplifier, or powered speakers.

What’s more, when you factor in DragonFly Copper’s aptitude as a headphone amplifier, its value goes through the proverbial roof. Its logo even changes to color to reflect the playback status and sample rate of your selected music file. If you’ve never experienced what a DragonFly can accomplish, or if, more than 300,000 listeners, you have but want more of everything, we highly encourage you to audition DragonFly Copper risk-free – and enjoy what’s certain to be another award-winning device.
